Reed Burnam
Reed Burnam is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter and solo artist originally from Houston, Texas. Getting his start playing in Houston bands in the 1990's, Reed moved to Austin in early 2001, where he spent nearly 25 years playing and recording with numerous projects across a spectrum of genres (Lightning Over Water, Khali Haat, The Ron Titter Band, Ouiness, Many Birthdays, Bamako Airlines), and sitting in with local stalwarts such as Daniel Johnston and Ralph White. He is also a long standing member of the global improvisational songwriters’ collective the Immersion Composition Society, as a founding member of Austin’s ‘Black Lodge’.
In late 2024, Reed relocated to Tulsa, OK, where he continues to play and record solo albums for his homegrown Redirection Records imprint. To date, he has self-produced and hand-released nearly 20 albums of original music.
In the early 2010’s, Reed began collaborating with Portland, OR-based Ten Dollar Recording Company. His TDRCo album debut, 2017's Another Switchback, was recorded in Portland with label heads Ryan Michael Block and Mariya May. Standalone single "Collected Summer" followed later that year, and in 2020 he released his second TDRCo full-length Universal Axis. His most recent TDRCo single is 2021’s “Funeral Selfie”. He is currently putting finishing touches on a new record of the same name for TDRCo, as well as tinkering with a never-ending glut of unfinished solo material. Stay tuned.
