Mo Douglas / Late For The Get-Together PRE-ORDER TDRCO-219

Call Mo Douglas an explorer of vibe, a crafter of sonic illusion, an instrumental instrumentalist, a defender of groove, but whatever you do, don't call Portland's Mo Douglas late for the get-together. With twelve fresh cuts custom blended to put some wriggle in your jiggle, it's time to let yourself go a little bit and dig in. Perfect for a late summer dawn car ride, an evening heart to heart on the porch, or a long walk to see the latest superhero smash 'em up, Mo's latest is a cozy hug for yr ears. From the spacey desert rock introduction of Routines and Gimmicks, to the whistle blow kicking off the psych-funk jammer Fancy Dress Clothes, to the perfectly imperfect groove of A Number Of Errors with its tasty start-stop teases, the whole shebang wraps up with One More Cut on the Soundtrack, as a mysterious figure emerges from the haze, grabs your hand, and gently walks you off into oblivion. The record itself is a trip, lush with the sounds and sights (close yr eyes real tight, you'll see it too) of a world calling out for connection, for warmth, for something. As always, it's best not to overthink these things. Let your ears do the wandering, with Mo Douglas as your guide, and you'll see that sometimes it's perfectly fine to be Late For The Get-Together.
